SOUTH COUNTY RE-ZONING
CAN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FIND YOUR HOUSE?
Davidsonville has lots of long, unmarked driveways and houses hidden from street view. If the fire department can't see your house number, help can't get to you in an emergency. Boy Scout Troop 731 is working with the Arundel Fire Department to create and sell reflective address markers for placing on mailboxes. See page 15 of the July-August issue of The Villager (use the link above) for details.
DACA HAS RAIN BARREL EXPERTISE
DACA committee member Lara Mulvaney is a Master Watershed Steward and she can help you install a rain barrel or a rain garden. if you need information or help with rain barrels, rain gardens, native plants, invasive species and bay-friendly lawn care, use the form on the Contact page to get in touch with Lara. (By the way, Lara uses four rain barrels and a rain garden at her own home.)
CRIME REPORTS
County residents can now access crime incident information from the Anne Arundel County Police at aacounty.org/police. Click on the "Crime Reports" icon. The site is updated daily.
TREE TRIMMING BY BGE
In order to keep tree branches from snagging utility lines, federal law allows power companies to trim as far as 75 feet into a resident's property. Property owners can request assistance from BGE and/or the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to provide replacement greenery that will look nice and not interfere with the overhead lines.

Get on the DACA email list
DACA is updating its member email list. Printing and mailing our newsletter, The Villager, is costly, in both money and volunteer time. Because of that, it's necessary to distribute the newsletter as a PDF sent by email. Printed newsletters can be mailed to members who specifically request and pay for a hard-copy edition.
DACA will never "spam" its members or share our organization's email list with third parties. Help us compile this list by including your email address when you renew your membership. Or, better yet, complete the message form on the Contact page so we can add your email address to The Villager's distribution list. Thank you!
